What stays on your device

Your settings, saved words, flashcard progress, and recently viewed items are stored only in your browser or on your phone. They are never uploaded. You can erase them anytime with "Clear saved data on this device" in Settings.

Anonymous usage counts

We record simple counters: page views, word lookups, shares, and audio plays, tied to a random identifier that says "some visitor" rather than who you are. We also use Google Analytics for the same purpose. None of this is used to identify you, to advertise to you, or to track you across other apps or websites.

AI word lookups

If you look up a word that is not in the published dictionary, the word you typed (and nothing else) is sent to our server, which asks Anthropic's Claude model to write a definition. Lookups are counted; the words are not linked to you.

Sign-in and notes (website only)

On the website you can optionally sign in with Google to keep private notes on hymns. We receive your name, email, and Google account identifier only to verify who you are, and your notes are stored against that account so you can retrieve them. Notes are private to you, and we never post to your Google account. The iOS app does not offer sign-in; everything in the app works without one. To delete your notes and account data, email us.

Children

The app shows dictionary and hymnal content suitable for all ages, requires no account, and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
